Imagine, for a second, a food-centric town like New Orleans filling up with internationally-acclaimed winemakers and adventurous epicureans for five days of dinners, seminars and tastings with the city’s best chefs. Like the sound of it? That’s the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (May 22-26, 2012), a five-day bacchanalia that pairs winemakers with New Orleans’ premier restaurants and chefs.
Clearly, this isn’t your average city food festival. The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE) ranks in the Top 10 Food & Wine Destinations in the U.S. and fourth in the World according to the TripAdvisor Annual Travelers’ Choice Destination Awards.
Highlights of the festival include the Grand Tastings, a blow-out tasting featuring 175 wineries and 75 New Orleans chefs and restaurants, and the Royal Street Stroll, a wine/food/art crawl along one of the city’s most historic streets.
NOWFE is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2012 (May 22-26), and tickets for the Grand Tasting and Royal Street Stroll are on sale now.
